At Ben's Yard, we take our responsibility to the environment seriously. We have implemented a range of sustainable practices and initiatives throughout our site, aiming to minimise our carbon footprint and contribute to a greener future.
Here are some of the ways we are making a difference:
TRIPLE CERTIFIED COFFEE
We are proud to serve triple certified coffee, which ensures that the beans are ethically sourced, promoting fair trade practices, supporting sustainable farming methods, and preserving biodiversity in coffee-growing regions.
REWILDING PROJECT
Our commitment to preserving and enhancing local ecosystems is reflected in our rewilding project. By creating habitats for native flora and fauna, we actively contribute to biodiversity conservation and the restoration of natural ecosystems.
FULLY COMPOSTABLE CUPS
To reduce waste and minimise environmental impact, we use fully compostable cups and lids made from plant-based materials. These cups can be composted and break down naturally, preventing plastic pollution and promoting a circular economy.
RECYCLING AND REUSING
We believe in the value of recycling and reusing materials. As part of our construction and maintenance practices, we have repurposed old concrete in roads and building materials, minimising waste and conserving resources.
SOLAR POWER
Embracing renewable energy, we have installed solar panels on our premises. These panels harness the power of the sun to generate clean and sustainable electricity, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.
ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING UNITS
We support the transition to electric vehicles by providing electric car charging units on our site. This initiative promotes cleaner transportation options and encourages the use of renewable energy sources for personal vehicles.
MINIMISING FOOD MILEAGE
We prioritise locally sourced ingredients to minimise food mileage and support local farmers and suppliers. By reducing the distance our food travels, we decrease carbon emissions associated with transportation and contribute to a more sustainable food system.
